Innovations for Change is implementing two SMS Platforms: RAINBOW SMS Platform, and BWALO LA ZA UMOYO funded by UNAIDS, and Global Fund through Southern African AIDS Trust (SAT) Malawi.
RAINBOW SMS Platform disseminate educational information on HIV and AIDS, also reports human rights violations against Key Populations when accessing health services. We use the issues raised through the SMS platform to coordinate advocacy sessions at District and National Level. At national level we work hand in hand with the Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC).
BWALO LA ZA UMOYO SMS PLATFORM coordinates question and answers on HIV and AIDS and other SRH related issues, reports human rights violations, and real -time monitoring of health services. We use the persistent issues raised through this platform to design key IEC messages in form of SMS. We also use the issues raised through the platform to coordinate advocacy sessions at district and national level.
